It is my belief that regular Physical Activity and Nutrition are the two most important elements to living an active healthy lifestyle.

Eat More when eating CLEAN!

Would it surprise you that when eating clean you will actually be eating more? Most people are shocked with how much food I eat, despite my lean long body.  I am constantly eating. I eat every 2 or 3 hours! However, the foods that I eat are CLEAN.  The foods are not chemically charged, over-processed, artificial, or calorie-dense containing little or no nutritional value.  The foods that I eat are clean and provide the body with fuel.

While my profession revolves around promotion of Physical Activity, I am becoming more interested in the role nutrition plays in daily living.  I have come to believe that nutrition plays a far more important role then exercise in shaping the body.  The body is not predominantly shaped by exercise; the body is shaped primarily by nutrition.  This may be shocking news to most people who kill themselves at the gym everyday.  However, what you must remember is that any workout program can be ruined in a matter of minutes with poor nutrition.  Take for example your last visit to the gym.  If you exercised extremely hard there is a good chance you may have burned 500 Calories.  However, 500 Calories is equal to about 1 slice of pizza.  So if you eat one slice of pizza (most people would eat 2 or 3) post gym, you are just breaking even (for some people they may actually be gaining weight despite exercising).

For years, I always out ate my exercise routine.  I would go to the gym for 2 hours most days of the week and I was not getting the results I wanted.  However, once I discovered CLEAN EATING, I realized the body is not predominantly shaped by exercise, as I had previously believed.  The body is shaped primarily by nutrition.  According to Tosca Reno, author of the Eat Clean Diet, she attributes a beautiful body to be shaped by 80% Nutrition, 10% Training, and 10% Genetics.  For most people they would question this formula.  Most people think its 10% Nutrition and 80% Training.  However, if you ask any bodybuilder or fitness model, they will tell you its 80% Nutrition.  I am living proof that eating clean will get you the results you are looking for. It has worked for me.  Now, this does not mean cancel your gym membership!  Regular physical activity does the body wonders. However, what I am suggesting, is that if you are serous about achieving results, invest some time into Nutrition.  Just as you may have invested in a personal trainer, a nutritionist is a wise investment as well!

Remember - The body is primarily shaped by Nutrition! Eat well and you will become a glowing example of health and vibrancy.
