Anti-Foods!

Do you read the ingredients on the foods you eat? Chances are Not! Trust me, if you did, you would not eat them.  Take for example a "healthy" Kellogg's All-Bran Cereal Bar.  The ingredients:

Wheat flour, sugar/glucose-fructose, cereal  (wheat bran, sugar/glucose-fructose, malt) corn flour, malted barley) Salt, vitamins (Thiamin Hydrochloride, pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Folic Acid, d-Calcium Pantothenate, Iron), Vegetable shortening (Contains palm and palm kernel oils, TBHQ), oat hull fiber, fancy molasses, dried whole egg, milk ingredients, wheat bran, baking powder, soy lecithin, sodium bicarbonate, natural flavor, soy flour, contains wheat, egg, milk and soy ingredients. 

All this in a Kellogg's All-Bran Cereal Bar? The ingredients sound like they should be on the back of a paint removal product.  Half the words I can not even pronounce! Do these sound like ingredients that are natural?

These health depleting foods (what some call "Anti-foods" for their anti food properties) are causing major health problems.  Such problems include high blood pressure, heart disease, type 2 diabetes, obesity, gastric reflux, many cancers, dementia, and mood disorders just to name a few.  Decades of scientific research have shown a link between our modern diet, our increasingly sedentary lifestyle, and the growing obesity epidemic. 

For hundreds of years humans have lived without refined foods.  At one time we would eat whole unprocessed foods straight from the natural source.  Within the past 50 plus years refined/processed foods have been introduced to the human diet.  Major food corporations have become multi-billion dollar operations and now produce "food" in factories.  At one time our food came from places like the local farm, grocery stand, farmers market, and bakery.  Today, however, this is not the case.  Just like our cars are manufactured in plants, our food is processed in major factories around the world.  These Anti-foods sicken the body and distract the mind.  It is these anti-foods that are responsible for our current obesity epidemic and major health problems. 

The Solution?  Eat Clean.  By clean, I mean choosing foods in their most natural state.  Avoid eating foods that are processed.  If you can not read half the ingredients on the product, do you think you should be eating them?  

Eating Clean is a way of life.  Give it a try, I guarantee you will feel good and look great!
